I LOVE.....

My ladies.
Sunday was spend hammering, nailing and fixing up our old green house.
Yesterday was spent welcoming our 'ladies' to our family.
and Today we waited for that all important egg to laid.
Our ladies are somewhere between 20-22 weeks old and should start laying in the next 2-4 weeks.

well as fate would have it we didn't have to wait long for our first egg:

Master E - Fathers Day Session

This is my idea to start a Thursday, photographing a 4 month old and his dad, in the stunning surrounds of Mt Annan Botanical Gardens.
The wattle trees where already in full bloom, and in conjunction with the warm sunny winter's morning beaming upon us i figured there would be no better back drop. After a few photo's around the wattle tree's we moved onto the 'friendship garden' section.

Mum, Dad and baby E, thank you so much for spending Thursday morning with me. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

xx Kirst

Vires Acquirit Eundo

Vires Acquirit Eundo
means: She gathers strength as she goes

Monday 16th August HMAS Melbourne departed for a 6 month deployment serving in the Gulf. Isaac is one of the many Sailors that departed on that ship along with many other mum's, dad's, son's, daughter's, partner's, sister's and brother's.
It was an extremely emotional day for everyone.
Below is a wonderful poem that i found that i think sum's up a partner's journey of a deployment (be it long or short)
 I MISS MY SAILOR

It's hard enough to say good-bye,
And to know that time will crawl and NOT quickly fly.

Falling asleep every night without you here,
With nothing to comfort me and dry my tears.

Gripping my pillow and longing for your touch,
And crying to your picture, "I miss you so much."

Bad dreams they wake me in the middle of the night,
And I turn to lay my head, on your chest full of might.

Only to find that you still aren't yet home,
My Sailor's not here to hold me, and keep me safe and warm.

But your pillow still smells of your sweet loving scent,
And I've held it closely since the day that you went.

The phone rings and I pray your voice I hear,
My heart skips a beat, it almost feels like you're near.

I cherish every phone call as if it were our last,
Reminiscing the good times and longing for the past.

The past when you were home with me, and the time we spent together,
Dreaming of your warmth and love and knowing we'll last forever.

Remembering the romantic times and yearning for your kiss,
But holding you so close at night, is what I most miss.

Living life with half my heart, you see is my biggest fear,
For you have the other half, so please hold it close and dear.

So don't try to be brave if rough times come ahead,
For if I ever lose you there'd be no life for me to live.

For you have my heart and forever always will,
There's an emptiness inside me that only you can fill.

So don't keep me waiting for this seems like and eternity,
Please come home safe my sailor and together again we'll be

21

On Aug 9, 1989 a little girl joined our family, un-named for a week (as my parents where sure she was a he) they settled on the name Melanie meaning: "black or dark".
Ok, so maybe my parents should have looked up what her name meant before the chose it! LOL
Now let's be honest here, look i was a little peeved when Melanie arrived, well come on...... before she was born i was 'daddy's little girl' and now i had competition serious, real, 6 pound something competition.

Never the less i loved her like a blister in the sun and some 21 years later here we are, still laughing at  one another :) (note: 'at' not 'with')

What's a big sister to give her little sister for her 21st? ..............

A Trapeze lesson derr.....
and of course a photography session!

Mel, we love you so much honey Happy 21st hope you enjoy your photos xx

Baby A makes 4

Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body. ~Elizabeth Stone

I really loved this family's session, and best of all i found a new little 'mate'. Little A wasn't really interested in sleeping much for this session but with a little feed and a warm cuddle from mum he fell asleep just long enough to snap those 'sleepy' newborn photos.
Mum and dad thank you so much for having me, we got there in the end, i hope you love your photos as much as i do.

xx Kirst

Such yummy long lashes

I promise little A wasn't hurt in the making of this photo :)
