remember forever

Today would have been my mothers birthday and there is not a day that goes by that i don't dearly miss her.
I found this poem this afternoon and i wanted to share it with you along with a photo i took of the amazing sky line tonight:

A Daughter's Sorrow
Author: Sheri Gustafson

There could never ever be another
Who could take the place of my Mother
A smile that always shone so bright
Like a star that passed through the night

It was very hard to say goodbye
When it was time to let you fly
Your life ended oh so soon
A star you are up with the moon

And to me you never did any wrongs
You always sang and wrote your songs
My heart was broken by your death
And to this day I will never forget

I miss and will remember you forever
Until the day we can fly together

Life

I know this is going to sound strange (in fact, i can't believe i am even about to share this) but you know those days when the sky is crystal blue and the cool southerly wind blows, i love nothing more then to hang my washing out, spread my towel out under it and lay to watch my washing flap in the wind.
For some reason it takes me to such a happy place, a place back in my childhood where my long blond hair would be flowing and my father pushing me on the swing, with me begging him to push me higher. I used to giggle so hard that i struggled to even stay seated.

I love those days.

B Christmas Family Session

As i sat down to edit these photo's it struck me, this family have been with me for quite a long while. I all of a sudden felt a sense of honour that they have trusted me each year to take their family photo's.
(If you dont' mind) I would like to take a moment to send a HUGE thank you to the B Family :)

Ok, so originally we booked in to do this session down at Coogee Beach, but when i read in our local paper that the annual Glass Island surf carnival was on we had too quickly change plans. The beach at Little Bay was where we ended up and to be honest i had never photographed there before, but after this session i am really keen to head back, there where just so many little wonders down there to explore.

Mr. I and little Miss I have grown so much, and it has been a real privilege to watch them grow.
To the 'B' Family have a wonderful Christmas along with a happy and safe New Year.
xx Kirst
